Firemen's Fountain

The top section of the Firemen's Fountain, across from the Hamilton County Courthouse in Chattanooga, Tn. The fountain was dedicated to the memory of firemen Matthew Peak and Henry Iler, who died fighting a fire on Market Street on the night of June 9, 1887.

Fun Time

This little boy was having a ball, playing in the fountains at Coolidge Park in Chattanooga, Tn. In the summer, when the temperature and the humidity are both in the mid-90s, this fountain is filled with screaming kids getting soaking wet.

Chattanooga Architecture

I'm not sure of the name of this building, but it shows how some of the builders around Chattanooga have gone to great lengths to conform to some of our more unusual intersections. The building in the background with the dome on top is The Dome Building. Swear to God, that's what they named it.

Lookout Mountain

One of the views from the Walnut Street Bridge, Chattanooga, Tn. That's Lookout Mountain in the background, a line of riverfront condominiums in front, and the Tennessee Aquarium to the right (the brick building with the spikes sticking up), and the Tennessee River down below. This was taken at about the same time as the sunset picture in the previous entry. Notice how I'm losing my light.
